Welcome!

I'm a Ph.D. student in Prof. Jiawei Han's Data Mining Group, Department of Computer Science, Univ. of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). I received my B.E. from Computer Science Department, Shanghai Jiao Tong Univ. (SJTU), China, where I was a member of the 2010 ACM Honored class, now part of Zhiyuan College in SJTU. I have also spent time at Microsoft Research Asia (Fall 2013 and Winter 2014), Google (Summers 2016, 2017). In addition, I love competitive programming contests, such as ACM/ICPC, Topcoder Open, Google Codejam, Facebook Hackercup, etc.

Algorithmic Programming Competitions

My journey of algorithmic programming competitions starts from my high school. In 2008, I won a Silver medal in China National Olympiad Informatics. In 2009, I won a Gold medal in the third Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

During the undergraduate study at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, I participated in the International Collegiate Programming Competition (ACM/ICPC). My team won 6 times Asian Regional Champions from 2010 to 2012. In the 2012/13 season, I won the Gold medal, 2nd Place, Asian Champion in World Finals as the team leader of Shanghai Jiao Tong University, which was reported as a news "SJTU Students Swept ACM-ICPC Final Golds". In the 2010/11 season, my team was ranked 13th place in World Finals.

I was also very active in online competitions. My Topcoder handle shangjingbo achieved Algorithm Target (rating 3000+) and was ranked in Top 10 all over the world in 2012. Talking about the global, invited onsite finals, I won the 4th place in Topcoder Open 2012, the 7th place in VK Cup 2012, the 15th place in Facebook Hackercup 2014, Top-24 in Topcoder Open 2014.
